Girl’s trip guide to San Diego

I love visiting San Diego! It’s got everything you might look for in a vacation spot - beaches, shopping, hiking! I’ve been to San Diego a couple times and here are some of my favorite things in SD to help guide your next girl’s trip!

Take a surf class

San Diego has beautiful beaches and warm weather, which is why you should consider taking a surf class. There are lots of surf schools available in SD and we chose one near Ocean Beach. If you’re there for a week or so, consider even taking a couple classes!

Explore and dine in La Jolla

La Jolla is situated right on the coastal line and has some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. Whether it’s hiking around Torrey Pines park or being a beach bum, spending a day in La Jolla is totally worth it. After you’re wrapped up your day, have dinner at one of the several restaurants in La Jolla.

Picnic at Balboa Park

Home of the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park is 1200 acre urban park situated in the heart of the city. There’s something to do for everyone and spending half a day is worth it here. You can explore the botanical gardens and museums. I recommend packing a picnic and finding a shady spot to sit after exploring the park.

Eat, drink, repeat

Although famous for its tacos and burritos, there are so many restaurants I like in San Diego. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve tries

  • Monarch in Del Mar

  • Born and Raised in Little Italy - definitely try to get a seat on the second floor

  • Pokez Mexican Restaurant in Gaslamp - lots of vegetarian options here

  • Raised by Wolves in Del Mar

  • Tacos el Gordo (various locations) - I’m vegetarian but my meat eater friends love this famous spot
